ABOUT US
Working Class Occupational Health Services was established to provide consultancy and training in the areas of health and safety. Our primary area of focus is worker’s wellness, health and safety in their workplaces and their living environments. Working – Class OHS has a team of Occupational Medical Practitioners, Occupational Health Nurses, Occupational Hygienists and Safety Officers.
At Working – Class OHS we practice our trade using the latest medical equipment that are regularly serviced and calibrated according to internationally accepted standards. We are guided by Occupational Health and Safety act no. 85 of 1993 As amended by Occupational health and safety amendment act, no. 181 of 1993 to;
- Provide for the health and safety of persons at work and for the Health and safety of persons in connection with the use of plant and Machinery
- The protection of persons other than persons at work against Hazards to health and safety arising out of or in connection with the Activities of persons at work;
- To establish an advisory council for occupational health and safety; And to provide for matters connected therewith.
No customer is too small or big for us. We reach the most remotes parts of the country through our mobile occupational health services.
Our partnership with community based health care organizations ensures provision of a seamless health care services to employees as well as to communities in which they leave.
THE FOUNDER
Dr Mathatho Samuel Phalafala who is the founder and manager of A3 Medical Centre and Working – Class OHS (Working- Class Occupational Health Services) is medical graduate with Bsc (UNIN), MBCHB (MEDUNSA), Cert Accounting & Finance (UNISA), PGDip, MPhil HIV/AIDS Management (Stellenbosch University), Aviation Medicine (Institute of Aviation Medicine), Post Graduate Paediatric Nutrition (Boston University, USA), DOMH (UP), DME, CIME.
Did Internship at Steve Biko Academic Hospital (Pretoria Academic Hospital) in 1999, then moved to Johannesburg-Helen Joseph Hospital-2000 (community service) and moved back to Pretoria where he started his private Practice in 2001. He continued to do sessions at Coronation Hospital (Rhaheema Moosa) in Johannesburg until he resigned in June 2010. He has special interest in HIV/AIDS and Diabetes Mellitus and is an accredited member of Centre for Diabetes and Endocrinology (CDE).
He also has interest in Clinical Trials and is involved with several Pharmaceutical companies, his commitment to serve his community was also demonstrated by his involvement with the Mamelodi Hospital Board since 2009 until he was appointed as the chairman of the Mamelodi Hospital Board since 2010 to date. On the professional front, he serves as Chairman of the local doctor’s association-Mamelodi Independent practitioners association (MAIPA) since 2007 to date.
